REACTOR DEPARTMENT SAILOR OF THE YEAR 2008

He has so many job titles, I guess he got a little stir crazy and he decided to list them all for the benefit of the rest of us.  He is so smart and such a good leader to those other sailors…I’m so proud of him!

We’re planning to do nothing together on Thanksgiving.  He will be back home but has to work on the holiday.  We were invited to the Refuge to join them so I will be going there for the foodstuffs and fun.  I have off both Thursday and Friday luckily which I just found out this week.

I have been working diligently on the newsletter for the refuge and it will be going to the printer this week.  The website has been completely updated so check it out (it had nothing to do with me) at evelynswildliferefuge.org.

Mom bought us new address labels and they are beautiful!! Mr. and Mrs. Peter B!! I love it and I can’t wait until he is home next week- I haven’t seen him since a few days after we got married.

I miss PA.  and I can’t wait to go to NY and skate around Bryant Park…Its the most awesomest thing on earth.  I really can’t wait.  I’m excited!

p.s. I really want to see Fantastic Mr. Fox!

On Peter’s and my first actual date he farted really loudly as we were getting out of my car.  He thought I would not hear it with the picking up of my purse, getting up and out of my car, shutting the car door.  Only he anticipated that I would shut the door more quickly than I did so in that little pause he farted, thinking the sound would be muffled by the slamming of the car door.  But it wasn’t.  And I heard it.  And I subsequently called him on it.  But I was already in love- it had already happened and no matter what he did I wasn’t falling out of love.

I’ve been thinking a lot about last Christmas (who isn’t- have you gone out recently? Christmas is EVERYWHERE and it was just halloween) and that reminds me of the holidays in New York last year and my favorite holiday memory… Ice Skating in Bryant Park.  I teased Peter relentlessly about my experience at ice skating when he had never been on ice before.  Then I was the only one to fall on the ice- and I did it right; as I was falling I was so concentrated on trying to stay up, I forgot momentarily about how much my nose had been running and when I hit the ice, snot flung from my nose, all over my face, jacket, ice and the professional ice skate coach/rescue person.  It took a whole sleeve to wipe what was on my face off and I left the snot on the ice to add traction to what was obviously a ‘slippy’ spot.

Peter was also there to rescue me and witnessed the whole thing, he probably had my own personal snot on him…and he still loves me.

We just got married and we are happy and he had to leave me to go off on the ship for a month.  He’ll return for a month then leave again for 6 months and I hate that.  But someday, we’ll have the opportunity to spend all the time we want together.

You can’t help what happens sometimes, sometimes things don’t go as you planned, but you just trust what you think you are sure of and it all turns out perfectly.

I do not know what I did to deserve this, but I am so happy and I hope that everyone feels like this.

I love House.  I never really watched it before the very end of last year, despite numerous recomendations from my sister, Krisann.  I became hooked while in New York where I watched several episodes with Peter’s little brother, Bruce & his girlfriend.  He [House] is a jerk, a cocky, unfeeling bastard who manipulates everyone around him.  I like to think that if I had a doctor who was that good at figuring out what is the matter with me, I would ignore the asshole comments.  But in reality, I think I’d have a hard time putting up with that kind of abuse.  But, it sure makes for some great television!

I loved the one with Cynthia Nixon (Miranda from Sex and the City) and she has Munchausen’s Syndrome.  I think she is such a great actress.  I am watching the one with the patient who mirrors the most powerful person in the room.  I enjoy the end where House has to pretend like he has no personality or history so he can finally get the patient to reveal a little about himself.  Then, after they determine how to make him better they decide to delay the remedy for fifteen minutes so House can join Cutty in the patient’s room and they can determine which one is King.  LOL.

I was shocked to see Hugh Laurie host SNL a few weeks back because he has an accent in reality!  I never detected that he had an accent from watching House all the time, he’s never faltered.  I thought he was a good actor before but when I saw him on SNL, I was blown away.  I got a kick out of the Bronx Beat skit (then again, I always love Bronx Beat.)

So, if you haven’t watched House yet, start as soon as you can- new episodes on Fox, reruns on USA all the time.
